In one of my previous posts, I’ve already written something about how sport has really good impact on my skin. Today I will go a little bit into details about it and try to explain why and how can exercise make you (even more) beautiful.
1. Exercise makes you happier
There is only one word: serotonin. Serotonin is a chemical found in human body, a neurotransmitter that carries signals along and between nerves. It is responsible for maintaining mood balance. Well, we can say it makes us happy.
Scientists have proved that there are several factors that play a role in raising serotonin level in human body – light exposure, diet and exercise.
Basically, when you do some sports, level of serotonin in your body goes up, which fights depression and generally bad mood. If you do sports outside, it makes your skin to synthesize vitamin D and boosts your serotonin even more efficient. Of course, as long as you stay protected against sun rays (read more here)…
2. Exercise makes your body look better
This one is really obvious. Many of us start to do some sports motivated by idea of losing weight and, finally, looking better, of course. But even if you don’t lose weight, your body will quite likely change its shape and muscle/fat ratio. And that is quite cool – I don’t have to buy new clothes because the old ones don’t fit anymore, but still everything looks better on me. 😀
3. Exercise makes you healthier
We hear that all the time. And it is so true. When I was younger (in my teenage years) I thought I was too young to care about health benefits. Now I realize I was wrong. It is never too early to take care about your health and your body.
Regular physical activity reduces the risk for different cancers, especially breast and colon cancer. It is also good for your immune system, for the heart and blood vessels, reduces the risk of osteoporosis and maintains healthy bones. Do you still need more reasons to start with regular exercise? Well, if you still do, there is number 4…
4. Exercise makes your skin (look) healthier
For me, this is the strongest motivation to start training and to keep going. Who doesn’t want beautiful flawless skin? I definitely do.
When you exercise, the tiny arteries in your skin open up and more blood can reach the surface of your skin, delivering nutrients that are necessary for your skin to recover from a certain damage. Exercise also regulates levels of hormones in your body that are beneficial for your skin. Even sweating itself is quite beneficial, although we sometimes try to avoid it. It can literally rinse the dirt and oil out from your pores. The only thing you have to do then is to wash your face afterwards to make sure that your face will stay clean. Pretty awesome, isn’t it?
Finally, smoother and nicer skin leads to more self-confidence, and that leads to the number 1 in this list – happiness. 🙂
5. Exercise makes you smarter
Last but not the least. Exercise increases levels of molecules that promote the growth and survival of brain cells. So basically, if you do some sports it might increase your ability to learn and remember things.
In the end all you have to do to use all these benefits is – exercise. Doesn’t matter what kind of physical activity you will do. It is just important to sweat a bit, and to make yourself feel and look better. 🙂
