If you’ve ever wanted to prepare 100% natural, beneficial face mask&scrub (yep, 2in1), here is a simple recipe to do so. I’ve been using it for a bit longer than one month now, and all I can say is: it works!
How to prepare it?
For this face mask&scrub you will need:
- green tea
Oatmeal for this purpose should be as small as possible. You can blend it or just try to chop it using a fork. I prefer having a little bit bigger pieces, not blended, because it feels better on my skin.
Mix equal parts of oatmeal and honey, for example one tablespoon of each and add half teaspoon of green tea to it. Mix well. Depending on the kind of honey you will use, you might want to add a bit of water (boil it first!) to get a mixture of good consistency. That means that your mask should not be to liquid, because it will be hard to apply, but it neither should be to dense because it will be impossible to mix the ingredients, and also hard to apply.
How to store it?
Once you prepare it, you don’t have to worry that something will go wrong if you keep it for the next time. It contains honey, which is natural preservative, so you can store the mask in the fridge for 2-3 weeks at least.
How to use it?
Apply the mask on your face. Leave it on your face for 10-15 min and then rub your skin gently, without applying to much pressure. Circular movements work really nicely on the cheeks. In the end just rinse it off with lukewarm water. And that’s it!
Why is it good?
Oatmeal is a natural exfoliant, it removes dead skin cells gently without irritating the skin. Because of its anti-inflammatory properties it is suitable for all skin types, even for the most sensitive skin types. Green tea also helps with anti-inflammatory properties, and generally “wakes up” our skin. Antibacterial activity of honey also plays an important role in giving your skin a special glow. Some people even use honey to treat acne and other skin conditions.
So if you are looking for something natural and effective, try it out and let me know how was it. 🙂
